- What are the benefits of the G-View?
The G-View is designed to provide a solution to meet both the Ob/Gyn physician and the patient’s main clinical needs, while substantially improving their wellbeing. Main benefits are:
1. Simple and easy to use, assisting the physician in the early detection of abnormalities in the vagina, vulva and cervix
2. “See and Treat” capabilities – both diagnostic and treatment enabled
3. Colposcope like capabilities at the Primary Care level
4. Increased patient and physician wellbeing
5. MIU and Image Augmentation software to assist in diagnosis
6. Enables recording and full documentation of images, video and diagnosis
7. Telemedicine ready
8. Single use disposable sheaths to avoid cross contamination
9. Enables results sharing with the patient during and after the examination
- Is my office big enough to fit the G-View?
Yes. The G-View takes up very little space, and can be used with a laptop computer to make it portable.
- Is the G-View portable?
Yes. The G-View is light weight and fits into a small case. Of course, a portable (notebook) computer must be used.
- What procedures can be performed with the G-View?
The G-View is a See & Treat device. The standard gynecological examination is performed with the G-View. Special working channels enable use of dedicated tools to perform common treatments or sample taking. Read more >
- What does “See and Treat” mean?
See and treat means that the device not only supplies an image for diagnostic purposes, it also enables treatment under vision. For example, while using the G-View to view the cervix, a biopsy can be taken if needed.
- Will the examination with the G-View take longer than with the speculum?
No. The wide field of view of the G-View camera actually facilitates quicker imaging of the cervix, with less manipulation than common with the vaginal speculum, causing less discomfort as well.
- Is the G-View used while in the Lithotomy position?
The G-View can be used with the patient sitting or lying down with their private parts covered, or in the traditional Lithotomy position.
- How is cross contamination avoided?
Single use disposable sheaths are fitted over the G-View handpiece and isolate it from contamination.
- Does using the G-View eliminate the need for the bimanual examination?
No. The G-View is used mainly to image the cervix and vagina, while the bimanual examination focuses on the uterus and ovaries.
- Do I need to use special illumination?
No. The G-View has its own internal illumination system, controlled by the user via the handpiece.
- Do I need two hands to use the G-View?
No. The G-View handpiece allows full functionality with one hand. The joystick and other controls on the handpiece enable adjustment of illumination, zoom in and out, capturing still images, operating different image filters and more. All of the above can also be performed with the computer mouse.
- How does the G-View provide such a good image?
The G-View incorporates a high definition digital camera. The images are taken from a relatively short distance, only 30-40 mm (about 1 inch) from the target, vs. about 300-400 mm or 10 inches while viewing through a speculum.
- Can I maintain medical records on the G-View system?
Yes. The G-View includes a data-base module to enter and maintain medical records, such as General Medical history, GYN and OB history. Images taken from current and past examinations are also automatically saved and easily retrieved.
